Fifty-four square meters on the 12th floor of Nantiruj Tower, at the dead end of Soi Sukhumvit 8. One bedroom with a king bed, a bathroom with a tub, a kitchen you can actually cook in, and a balcony that looks over the pool and the city. It is quiet in a way that central Bangkok normally is not, and that is the whole point of the place.

WHY THIS ONE

  • The building sits at the dead end of the soi with no frontage on Sukhumvit Road. Guests in our other apartments here mention the quiet more than anything else.
  • A balcony over the pool deck, which is where most people end up with their coffee.
  • 54 square meters for two people, so the bedroom is a room rather than an alcove.
  • A kitchen with a stove, kettle and coffee machine, and a washing machine in the apartment.
  • 500Mbps fiber and a real desk, if part of the trip is work.

WHERE YOU SLEEP

  • One bedroom, one king bed, blackout curtains.
  • High and low pillows, so you are not stuck with someone else's idea of a pillow.
  • A full wardrobe, which matters on a long stay.

WHERE YOU WASH

  • One bathroom with a bathtub and a bidet.
  • Hair dryer, iron and ironing board provided.

WHERE YOU EAT AND WORK

  • Kitchen with fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, kettle and coffee machine.
  • Cooking basics are stocked: oil, salt, pepper, and both Asian and Western sauces.
  • Washing machine in the apartment.
  • 500Mbps fiber, a Smart TV with Netflix, and a laptop-friendly desk.
  • Balcony with outdoor seating, facing the pool and the skyline.

WHO IT IS FOR

  • Couples who want a quiet base in the middle of Sukhumvit rather than a hotel room on a main road.
  • Solo travelers on longer stays who need a kitchen, a washing machine and bandwidth.
  • Anyone who would rather walk 300m to a park in the morning than to a gym treadmill.

We run four apartments in this building. Three are one-bedrooms like this one; one is a two-bedroom.

THE LOCATION

Soi Sukhumvit 8 is a residential lane one turn off Sukhumvit Road. It runs about a kilometer, and that length is exactly why the apartment is quiet and why the walk out is worth planning with luggage.

  • 2min walk to 7-Eleven, cafes and restaurants on Soi 8
  • 5min walk to Benjakitti Park, about 300m, reached through the back lane rather than along Sukhumvit
  • 10min walk to BTS Nana down Soi 8 to the main road, or about 2min on the building's golf cart to the mouth of the soi. The cart runs outbound; the walk back is on foot.
  • 10min walk to Koreatown at Sukhumvit Plaza, Soi 12
  • 10min walk to Terminal 21 and MRT Asoke
  • 12min walk to Bumrungrad International Hospital

ON FOOT

  • BTS Nana, about 10 minutes down Soi 8 to the main road
  • Benjakitti Park, about 5 minutes, roughly 300m through the back lane rather than along Sukhumvit

  • Koreatown at Sukhumvit Plaza on Soi 12, about 10 minutes
  • Bumrungrad International Hospital, about 12 minutes

THE BUILDING SHUTTLE A golf cart runs from the building to the mouth of Soi 8 in about 2 minutes. It runs outbound only, so the walk back is on foot, and it is occasionally out of service.

TRAINS BTS Nana is on the Sukhumvit line, which reaches Siam, Chatuchak and Mo Chit without touching traffic. Change to the MRT at Asok for Chinatown, Ratchada and Lat Phrao. For Suvarnabhumi Airport, take the BTS to Phaya Thai and connect to the Airport Rail Link.

TAXIS AND RIDE-HAILING

  • Grab is the most predictable, with the fare agreed before you get in
  • Metered taxis are constant on Sukhumvit Road; ask for the meter
  • Motorbike taxis are the fastest thing in rush hour and wait at the mouth of the soi
  • MuvMi electric tuk-tuks are cheap and booked through their app

WORTH KNOWING Traffic is heaviest 0700 to 09:00 and 16:00 to 19:00. At those hours the BTS beats a car almost every time.

Residential Building: This is a residential building, not a hotel. There is no 24-hour front desk and no staff living on site, but messages are answered fast at any hour.

Sleeping Arrangement: One bedroom with a king bed, sleeping two. One bathroom with a bathtub. There is no sofa bed and no second bedroom.

Genuinely Quiet: The building sits at the dead end of Soi Sukhumvit 8, with no frontage on the main road. It is quiet day and night, and it is the thing guests mention most.

An Older Building: Nantiruj Tower is an established Bangkok condominium, not a new build. The apartments are large and quiet and the walls are thick; the lobby, corridors and pool deck show their age. Guests who want big and calm are happy here. Guests who want glossy and new are not.

The Soi and the Shuttle: Soi 8 runs about a kilometer from Sukhumvit Road, so the walk to BTS Nana is about 10 minutes. The building's golf cart covers the soi in about 2 minutes. It runs outbound, the walk back is on foot, and it is occasionally out of service. Worth planning around on arrival day with luggage.

Balcony: The apartment has a balcony with outdoor seating. Please supervise children on it at all times.

Building Facilities: The pool, gym and sauna are run by building management. They close for maintenance from time to time and we pass on notice as soon as we get it.

Quiet Hours: 22:00 to 06:00. No parties, events or large gatherings. Normal evening conversation in the apartment is not the point of this rule; sound carrying to the neighbours is.

Smoking, Vaping and Pets: Not permitted anywhere on the property, balcony included.

Monthly Stays: Monthly rates include a utility allowance. The amount varies by month, so message us and we will tell you what it is for your dates.

Documents: All guests provide a passport on arrival, as Thai law requires. For longer stays we may also ask for a signed lease agreement, and we will confirm that with you before you book.

Compliance with Local Laws: In accordance with Thai law on short-term rentals, we ask guests to direct any queries to our cohost for prompt assistance.
