An apartment on the 8th floor of Nantiruj Tower, at the dead end of Soi Sukhumvit 8. The bedroom wall is a painted forest, the windows run floor to ceiling, and the balcony looks out over the city with green in front of it. It is the quiet end of a loud neighborhood.

WHERE YOU SLEEP

  • Bed: King bed, with a high and a low pillow on each side.
  • The mural: A painted forest across the bedroom wall, under warm, low lighting.
  • Light control: Full-length blackout curtains. They cut most of the morning light but do not seal at the edges.
  • Storage: Built-in wardrobe with robes, hangers and a luggage bench, plus a full-length mirror, hair dryer, iron and board.

WHERE YOU UNWIND

  • Loveseat nook: A two-seat sofa set into floor-to-ceiling windows. This is where the light in this apartment lands.
  • Balcony: Outdoor seating, the city in front of you and greenery below.
  • Entertainment: Smart TV with Netflix.

WHERE YOU WORK

  • Desk: A work desk and chair at the window, facing the city.
  • Wifi: 500Mbps fiber.
  • Coffee: An espresso machine at a standing coffee and tea station.

WHERE YOU COOK AND EAT

  • Kitchen: Cooktop, microwave, fridge, and the dishes and utensils to cook a real meal.
  • Cupboard: Oil, salt and Asian and Western sauces are already there.
  • Shopping: 7-Eleven and the Soi 8 minimarts are two minutes away, which is what makes cooking here realistic rather than theoretical.

WHERE YOU WASH UP

  • Bathroom: Full bathtub, a separate shower and a bidet.
  • Supplies: Shampoo, conditioner, body soap and shower gel, fresh towels, robes.
  • Laundry: Washing machine in the apartment, with a drying rack, iron and laundry supplies.

GOOD FOR

  • Couples and solo travelers who are here for the city but book on whether they will sleep.
  • Guests who want the park, a coffee and an early night more than a late one.
  • Long stays, with a kitchen, in-apartment laundry and a monthly utility allowance.

THE LOCATION

Soi Sukhumvit 8 is a residential lane one turn off Sukhumvit Road. It runs about a kilometer, and that length is exactly why the apartment is quiet and why the walk out is worth planning.

  • 2min walk to 7-Eleven, cafes and restaurants on Soi 8
  • 5min walk to Benjakitti Park, about 300m, through the back lane
  • 10min walk to BTS Nana down Soi 8 to the main road, or about 2min on the building's golf cart to the mouth of the soi. The cart runs outbound; the walk back is on foot.
  • 10min walk to Terminal 21 and MRT Asoke
  • 12min walk to Bumrungrad International Hospital

REVIEWS FROM OTHER APARTMENTS IN THIS BUILDING

  • This apartment is new and has no reviews of its own yet. The lines below are from guests of our other apartments in Nantiruj Tower, not of this one.

"This is a diamond for such a huge city. Located next to one of the main streets, but peaceful and quiet like if it were somewhere else." - a guest of our 7th-floor apartment

"Even though it is right near some of the busiest areas, it is just a short walk through a back alley and suddenly peaceful. It is the perfect balance between being close to restaurants and having quiet nights." - a guest of our 11th-floor apartment

GOOD TO KNOW QHow far is the walk to BTS Nana? A: About 10 minutes down Soi 8 to the main road. The building's golf cart takes you to the mouth of the soi in about 2 minutes, but it runs outbound only - the walk back is on foot, and it is occasionally out of service. Q: Why is it quiet? A: The building sits at the dead end of the soi, with no frontage on the main road, and this apartment is eight floors up. It is quiet day and night, and it is the thing guests mention most. Q: Are the pool and gym included? A: Yes, for the guests on the booking, subject to building management's schedule.

Nana is where Sukhumvit's nightlife, Koreatown and Benjakitti Park all meet, and Soi Sukhumvit 8 is the residential lane one turn off it that stays quiet. The lane runs about a kilometer from the main road, which is both why it is quiet and why the walk out is worth planning. This apartment suits guests who want the park, a coffee and an early night more than a late one. Click "Show Host Guidebook" for our local recommendations.

Residential Building: This is a residential building, not a hotel. There is no 24-hour front desk and no staff living on site, but messages are answered fast at any hour.

Genuinely Quiet: The building sits at the dead end of Soi Sukhumvit 8, with no frontage on the main road. It is quiet day and night, and it is the thing guests mention most.

An Older Building: Nantiruj Tower is an established Bangkok condominium, not a new build. The apartments are large and quiet and the walls are thick; the lobby, corridors and pool deck show their age. Guests who want big and calm are happy here. Guests who want glossy and new are not.

The Soi and the Shuttle: Soi 8 runs about a kilometer from Sukhumvit Road, so the walk to BTS Nana is about 10 minutes. The building's golf cart covers the soi in about 2 minutes. It runs outbound, the walk back is on foot, and it is occasionally out of service.

Building Facilities: The pool, gym and sauna are run by building management. They close for maintenance from time to time and we pass on notice as soon as we get it. The male sauna is currently out of service for building maintenance; the female sauna is open to all guests in the meantime.
